LastFM? iLike? MOG? Your opinions sought.

I’ve toyed with both LastFM and Pandora. I have not used iLike or MOG, which like LastFm seem to turn on a more “social”-oriented idea.

Do you have opinions about these networks/services — or others?

Please chime in, in the comments, if you do.

Thanks.

PS: No Consumed this weekend.

Further diversion may be found at MKTG Tumblr, and the Consumed Facebook page.

Rob-

I love iLike. I made a decision long ago to not buy Greatest Hits albums except for the most specific of circumstances (like trying to sit through an entire Hall & Oates album). I really like B-sides, and I often find myself really feeling a selection from my music collection that I previously did not know existed. I can throw it up on iLike as it comes to my attention and let other people know about songs that they probably never would have listened to. It’s great stuff and I don’t know why it hasn’t caught on more, to be honest.

Last.fm is okay if you use it enough and let it “learn” you. The diversity of selection is unparalleled. But the most usable and feature-rich is Spotify, if you can score an invite. It’s on-demand radio, basically.

LastFM records every song you listen to for public consumption… If you could set the privacy so no “friends” could check in on your taste level, I would have left it installed. now if I want to listen to Soda Shop by Jay Brannan on repeat for an hour and a half straight, then that’s what I’ll do.
