- Alleged: Twitter’s Phenomenal Growth Suddenly Stops: Seems unlikely.
- Recession and free media expansion impact further on media consumption patterns, research shows: “More than a quarter of consumers plan to reduce or cancel their satellite or cable TV subscriptions, according to the research, up from 15% six months ago. The research … reveals the extent of the economic downturn’s impact on consumers’ media consumption.” This kind of thing drives me crazy. What this research “reveals” is what consumers tell pollsters. Have 15% of consumers canceled their cable in the past six months? That’s what their earlier “data” would imply. Nothing of the kind has happened. It’s possible that people will cancel cable en masse, and if it happened, THAT would demonstrate impact on consumption patterns.
