- ‘Wire’ writer says adverts kill TV: “Television as a medium, in terms of being literate and telling stories, has short-changed itself since its inception. That is because of advertising.” Um: Nay-doy-ay. That said, I remind all those who agree with this obvious statement that in the Webby world, more cultural content is ad-supported than ever. Just saying.
