Consumed, “Consumed”

So I finally get noticed by the mainstream media. Devastating takedown? Or yet more proof that “Gawker has become almost impossible to read“?

Who cares. It’s just another disappointment: No link to this site at all! Thanks for nothing. Gwankers.

Further diversion may be found at MKTG Tumblr, and the Consumed Facebook page.

Gawker used to be one of my favorite snarky reads, but they are suffering a profound case of out of touchness, for the most part. It’s good when Choire writes (which doesn’t happen enough) and Balk is often funny, but he doesn’t seem to be cut out for the 12 post a day grind of “professional” blogging.

The idea of you as a shill is fucking hilarious. They really need to do their homework. In other news, they recently talked about Valerie Bertinelli as being a has-been who starred in a soap opera. Now I know they’ve got some young whippersnappers dashing off posts over there, but even though most cursory of web research would’ve revealed to them that One Day at a Time was a long-running sitcom, and that she was pretty much a super star when it was at its height.

I’m not in a position to comment on the site’s quality now vs. the past.

What I am willing to say is that I always liked the One Day at A Time opening theme song. Really catchy.
